In praise of Rep. Frederica Wilson of Miami

My intention here was to post a photograph of Rep. Frederica Wilson, one of the best of the 435 members of Congress. Perhaps, I am swayed by the fact that her press secretary declined my request for an interview 3 years ago on the principal that rejection makes the heart grow fonder. Reality intrudes here. Rep. Wilson’s new found fame is the sad consequence of the death of Green Beret La David Johnson and therefore, this photograph of Sergeant Johnson has come to represent the congresswoman from Florida who was his mentor.

The competence and compassion of Rep. Frederica Wilson (D_Florida) came to my attention by chance. I was researching my column for e-architect U.K. on the now late architect Zaha Hadid’s condominium in the heart of downtown Miami.
